We’ve all come across these girls on Instagram while browsing through the explore section. The ones who post half naked selfies, like a picture of their round ass in a G String with a caption like “Hard work pays off”, or lying in bed in nothing but their bra and underwear saying “Rise and grind”.
Yes, I’m sure they’re beautiful and have incredible bodies, and by showing their body off with cute captions, you get a bunch of horny teenage boys following them commenting on how beautiful they are. The more half naked selfies they post, the higher their follower count goes – from 500 to 5,000 to 50,000 and suddenly they’re INSTAFAMOUS!
We often justify our inability to work out with “I just don’t have the time”. Well, what if I told you that just 15 minutes on this machine is more than enough and as effective as 30 minutes on the treadmill or eliptical? This machine burns 800-1400 calories per hour, versus 600-800 calories per hour on the eliptical.
By now, most of you have heard of wheatgrass and how it’s soooo healthy for you. Although you will find a plethora of benefits of wheatgrass on the internet, there hasn’t been a lot of research done, so a lot of these benefits are claims and not necessarily scientifically proven. However, I didn’t read anywhere that it’s bad for you, and given ALL the potential health benefits, I decided to give it a try.
I turned 30 this past week and celebrated this weekend with a surprise birthday dinner followed by drinks downtown. Since I didn’t know what was going on, I wanted an outfit that could go with the flow but still said birthday girl at the same time. For my 30th birthday, I wanted a look that was sophisticated yet sexy – a reflection of what I think it is to be in your 30s. I break down my look from head to toe below.
Okay, maybe it’s not magic, but given how much it costs and how well it works, it may as well be.
I’ve tried numerous over the counter/prescription products for spot treatment, but the following two really work on those stubborn hard pimples when the other products simply weren’t working anymore. These homeopathic treatments are good for people who are suffering from the random big pimple before a big event, or people who suffer from regular breakouts.
I get pretty descriptive in this post, but hey let’s be honest, there’s nothing sexy about pimples. So let’s get to it, shall we? Read More
Eating healthy is a lifestyle. Generally, sustainable weight loss happens at 1-2 lbs a week, anything more is probably the result of a crash diet. If you go on an unrealistic diet, you’ll never be able to maintain the weight loss and it’s very probable that the weight will come back even worse. To maintain a healthy weight, it’s not about going on a diet and losing weight, instead, it’s about losing and maintaining the weight loss by incorporating REALISTIC lifestyle changes.
I started incorporating lifestyle changes in my early 20s. As I age, my metabolism has slowed down, so over time I’ve had to incorporate more changes.
Below is a list of 10 things I’ve incorporated into my daily lifestyle that have over time helped me lose and keep the weight off. Read More
I have been working out at least twice a week since I was 22. In my early twenties, I stuck to cardio, light weight training and yoga poses. Personally, I like the look of a long, lean body type. I always thought that lifting weights would give me a bulky and muscular body type – boy was I wrong.
Many women have a misconception that lifting weights will make you bulky and I too was one of them. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago, I had gained 15 lbs and my regular diet and workout regime wasn’t working! I’d lose a few pounds, only to step on the scale after a weekend of partying to see I’ve gained it all back.
Anti aging begins with how you take care of yourself – inner and outer. To age gracefully, it’s important to sleep well, eat well and maintain an active lifestyle. But in addition to all that, there are always skin products that give us that extra boost.
Despite being a make up junkie, I don’t like wearing a full face of make up daily, yet I want to look presentable for work. I also love sleep…which means I’m usually rushing to get ready in the mornings. So it’s only natural that I had to come up with a quick morning make up fix.
Items in my daily make up routine are as follows:
For starters, I’ve struggled with acne since I was about 16 years old. I was first able to fix it with some Benzoyl Peroxide cream. A couple of years later, it flared up again. I was then prescribed oral antibiotics, such as tetracycline combined with some topical cream. That worked for a few years, only to come back even worse! Around the age of 21/22 my acne got very bad and the creams and oral antibiotics no longer worked. I started to get cystic adult acne – those pimples that are under the surface, hurt and never surface so they never EVER go away!
When I went to go see a dermatologist, she advised me to go on Accutane, but given all the side effects, I just couldn’t commit. I then decided to finally try birth control.
