My Beach Bag Essentials
My beach bag consists of skin care and easy glam items that keep me protected from the sun while help me looking beach chic all day long.
PETER THOMAS ROTH MINERAL SPF POWDER
I’m a huge proponent of SPF and it’s of uptmost importance at the beach. Although I never leave the house without wearing SPF, reapplying a cream at the beach can be difficult with all the grainy sand that can get on your hands. Not to mention that it can leave your face feeling greasy. Peter Thomson Roth’s mineral SPF powder is perfect for the beach because you can brush on your SPF to give you instant protection. No need to touch your face with your dirty hands and it goes on translucent and feels super lightweight on your skin.
SPRAY ON SUNSCREEN
Since I have a tendency to breakout, I’m careful with what I use on my face. As a result, I have a separate sunscreen for my body. Ever since I discovered spray on sunscreen, I never looked back. It applies evenly, absorbs quickly and goes on super easy making reapplication throughout the day more likely. I also happen to love the glistening glow it gives my body.
ANGEL HAIR SOFTENING SPRAY
Being an avid swimmer, I spend a lot of time in the water. As great as it is for your skin, salt water can make your hair dry and very tangled. When I come out of the water, I like to spray in this hair softening spray to keep my hair conditioned. Sometimes, when I don’t have time to wash and set my hair, this spray gives me lovely soft beach waves – a perfect look for the evening.
Incase I’m heading anywhere afterwards and want to freshen up, I can do so quickly with these three items.
The Bare Minerals Powder Foundation is made of pure minerals and won’t clog your pores, while giving you some great coverage. In the past, I found it challenging to find the right color to match my skin tone with this brand. However, recently Bare Minerals came out with their Blemish Ready formula that has a low percentage of salicylic acid that fights acne while giving you coverage at the same time. This line has more yellow undertones which matches my skin complexion quite well.
Although I’m already tanned, I like using bronzer to give me a glow. My choice bronzer is Guerlain’s Terracotta Bronzing Powder.
The Sephora travel powder brush has a cover and extends when you take the cap off which I use interchangeably to apply both my powder and bronzer.
I know it’s obvious, but sunglasses are imperative if you’re spending an entire day in the sun as it protects your eyes from wrinkling. Finding the perfect pair of aviators was very challenging for me as I have a very small head. Ray Bans are out of the question but I was able to find the right fit with these Giorgio Armani shades.
You can never go wrong with some hand sanitizer, hand cream and tissues. These travel sized items above are a must have in any beach bag.
