Red Carpet Ready Skin in 3 Minutes – Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads Review
Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Face Peels claim to improve the appearance of fine lines, reduce pores, treat breakouts and even your skin tone. It’s an anti aging and anti acne product in one. It can be found at your local Sephora store.
I was first introduced to these peels when I purchased my Clarisonic – it came with a trial pack of 5 treatments. As a beauty enthusiast, I had seen these pads floating around on Instagram claiming to help with acne and blemishes, so I was really excited to try it.
It’s a two step process where you apply the first pad in circular motions, wait two minutes and then apply the second pad in circular motions, then follow with your day or night cream. I first used it at night and the next morning my skin was glowing and felt smooth. I saw a visible difference in my pores as well. You can use these pads twice a day, but I prefer to use it a few times a week. I especially like to use it the night before a big event, to give my skin that extra glow and help my make up go on smoothly. I also find it helps control my breakouts. It does make your skin sensitive to UV rays, so ensure you follow up with SPF if you’re going to be exposed to the sun.
How it Works:
Some of the key ingredients found in the first step are glycolic acid which has been proven to reduce visible signs of aging and increase cell turnover, salicylic acid which is a common ingredient found in acne fighting products that helps unclog pores and prevent breakouts and lactic acid that promotes cell renewal helping clear up blemishes.
The second step contains retinol which also has anti aging effects on skin, vitamins A/C/E that prevent collagen breakdown and other natural extracts to gently neutralize and calm the skin.
Depending on your skin regime, you can use it daily for the first month and then twice a week for maintenance. The product isn’t cheap and since I go for regular facials, I choose to use it a few times a week.
The product comes in different sizes – a 5, 30 and 60 pack. I recommend first trying it out with the 5 pack (shown below). It can be found in the Beauty To Go section at Sephora for $20. If you like the results, try the 30 (shown above) next and so forth.
